“Right from the start, I was annoyed by the dreadful ride comfort of our 2021 Dethleffs XLI, especially the loud rolling noises. Every bump in the road, especially transverse joints, hit the interior so hard that you had the feeling that half the vehicle had collapsed at the back.

After a lot of research and on the recommendation of two friends who have the same vehicle, I decided to install additional air suspension on the tandem rear axle. The result was slightly better at first, but after experimenting with the air pressure, I didn’t notice any significant improvement. Although the vehicle’s suspension was slightly better, the long rear overhang meant that it literally bounced on the rear axle as if you were sitting on a rubber ball. Despite all this, nothing changed, especially on bends. The bumps continued to be so pronounced that you were seriously worried.

So I did some more research and discovered that the tyre pressure recommended by the manufacturer was far too high for my vehicle. After adjusting the pressure to the correct values, I noticed a small, but really only a small improvement. However, the problem with the transverse joints or a patched-up road, as is normal in our areas, remained.

So I did some more research, because that couldn’t be the end result for me. In the course of this, I came across the Marquart company and initially described my problem to them. I found the subsequent consultation to be excellent and extremely detailed.

I finally decided to replace the rear shock absorbers with Marquart shock absorbers. The installation was very easy and I did it myself on a Saturday afternoon.

I then drove extensively over my usual test track and what can I say: the shock absorbers finally do what they are supposed to! The vehicle is kept quiet and the bumps are absorbed cleanly. What’s more, the lateral inclination on roundabouts or in bends has decreased significantly, which also contributes to a much better driving experience.

For me personally, the result is impressive and I am really thrilled. Looking back, I think that I could have saved myself the additional air suspension if I had opted for the Marquart dampers in the first place.

A big compliment to the Marquart company, which not only has a high level of expertise, but also offers a first-class and exceptional service in this day and age and also provides the customer with friendly, respectful advice without giving the customer the feeling that they are being a nuisance. I can recommend the Marquart company without reservation and will certainly call on their expertise again if required. And for anyone who still has doubts, I am happy to provide information. “Hello Mr Wördemann, I’m back from my holiday. A journey full of joy thanks to my new Marquart shock absorbers!!! I am a very conscious and reflective driver. I can hardly put into words what has happened to me thanks to you.

The journey started from Ancona to Rome. I drove up passes on narrow, small roads in poor condition and down again on the other side. Some of the roads were very bumpy, and sometimes the road suddenly dropped off sharply towards the edge of the carriageway. It was a new kind of experience for me. The high stability and smooth ride were new to me.

Off to Greece. We continued through northern Greece, partly on poor country roads up to 1700 metres above sea level and back down to sea level again. Once again, I enjoyed the driving behaviour of my Iveco.

For years I had improved my suspension with stronger spring packs, a 6t stabiliser bar, additional air springs and original 6t Iveco shock absorbers and have now installed their Marquart dampers on recommendation. An incredible change!!!

Back from Greece, we arrived in Bari and travelled via Naples to Florence. As we drove through the Apennines, I often overtook 40-tonne lorries and whenever I came out of their slipstream, the incredible, newfound smoothness and high driving stability became apparent.

Once, when I was overtaking a lorry in the middle lane, a large panel van overtook me at the same time at high speed in the left lane and when I drove out of the air roller of the lorry from the right, I also got the air roller of the panel van from the left. My Iveco drove straight ahead with stoic calm and I had a completely safe feeling. …

I have been driving my Iveco Turbo Daily for 21 years and have now reached the end of a long journey of changes to my chassis. I would like to express my pleasure and enthusiasm to you. “On 12 July, following your advice, I bought 4 shock absorbers for my Sprinter motorhome with a Bürstner body, year 21, and had them fitted in my workshop. I then spent 7 days driving approx. 1500 kilometres to Normandy over all road categories – even in extreme weather conditions.

With the new shock absorbers, I switched from a 2 CV Ente to a Porsche!!!!! I would never have thought such a big improvement in driving characteristics possible. I have clearly pushed the limits when cornering and now have a relaxed, safe feeling with the road holding always optimised. The bouncing on cracked, uneven roads has only become marginally worse. “Top from the first consultation to the end. I was first sent shock absorbers for the front, which I fitted myself. When I was still not 100% convinced, I was advised to increase the preload of the torsion bars. As I am a fussy motorhome driver and also come from the automotive industry, I asked Mr Urban to take a look at my Concorde from the perspective of a suspension specialist.

After I had arrived the day before and, out of the blue, my starter battery had given up the ghost, the appointment for the suspension check got off to a good start. Marquart picked me up together with the nearby Mercedes workshop, swapped the shock absorbers with me until I was finally satisfied and finally took back the previously installed shock absorbers. “Even on a short trip to the petrol station, I could clearly feel the difference and was very surprised. Yesterday we set off in the direction of Upper Bavaria and were delighted with the new dampers after almost 250 kilometres. Even my better half noticed a much better driving behaviour from the passenger seat.

The rumbling at the front axle is no longer present and bouncing in potholes has also disappeared. The inclination when cornering is kept to a minimum and better directional stability is guaranteed, even in ruts. Although the damping has become significantly firmer, you don’t feel like you’re sitting in a sports car and rattling your teeth. My conclusion for this decision is a clear YES, I would do it again and I should have done it sooner. In my opinion, almost €1,300 is not a small amount, but it is probably a much better investment than other gimmicks and I can really recommend it.

Finally, I would like to point out that I do not receive any commission for advertising. I have compared a few providers and made my decision and that is/was a good thing.“
