Mercedes Sprinter with coil-over springs

The Sprinter is generally regarded as very comfortable. However, its soft suspension is also the subject of the most frequent criticism. Its handling is spongy and the body sways considerably. Many criticise its unstable handling and a body that sways – particularly in alcove motorhomes and vehicles with a long rear overhang. This can be a problem, especially on bends and uneven surfaces. The vehicle feels like a seesaw.

Our innovative coil-over solution makes it possible to tackle these problems. We fit a coil spring over the Sprinter’s shock absorber, which is normally fitted with a transverse leaf spring. The system is supplied as a complete unit, including high-quality bearings, dust covers and all the components required for simple and efficient fitting.

We have developed these coil-over springs for the Sprinter 906/907 (four-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive) as well as for the VW Crafter Type 2E.

• Reducing the load on the leaf spring:
  
  The additional suspension reduces the load on the transverse leaf spring, which extends its service life and improves ride comfort.
• Reduction in bottoming out:
  
  The improved suspension significantly minimises bottoming out on uneven terrain or under heavy loads.
• Raising the vehicle’s ride height:
  
  With our coilover solution, you can raise the ride height by around 25–35 mm, which not only improves ground clearance but also gives the vehicle a more rugged look.
