Now feels closer to a car than a van to drive
“I upgraded my 2024 Hymer MLt 580 in two stages so I could assess the benefit of the individual changes. Three months and 3,000 kilometres ago, I had Marquart Rear Dampers installed. From the very first mile you could really feel the difference. Roundabouts were much smoother, with hardly any body roll. The low-speed sway that the Mercedes Sprinter usually suffers from was almost gone.
After driving for a few weeks, I felt that the original Mercedes front dampers weren’t quite working in sync with the Marquart rear dampers. I ordered and installed a pair of Marquart front dampers. A 200km test drive along some of the UK’s finest twisty B roads showed that upgrading all four dampers was the right decision.
The 2024 Hymer MLt comes with a third rear leaf spring as standard, and when you add the Marquart Dampers front and rear, the handling is completely transformed. I would definitely recommend this upgrade.“

‘After driving our Idefix for 5,000 kilometres, I can say with conviction: “This car is perfect”. The car is absolutely stable in normal driving conditions. Whether going up or down hills, around bends or in windy conditions. I’m always amazed at how it still pulls through on the mountain with its 3.5 tonnes. You can drive in a relaxed manner. The overall package of reinforced springs, shock absorbers and air suspension harmonises perfectly. Although I’ve only driven it on the road so far, I’m confident it can handle a lot off-road too. With that in mind, stay healthy, everyone.‘

Marquart shock absorbers were installed in our IVECO 70 Bimobil EX412 at the newly opened Marquart workshop in Löningen. The initial telephone consultation was very informative, and we had to fill out a questionnaire with various vehicle details. Mr Neumann provided detailed advice on site. The correct damper settings were found based on the vehicle weight and intended use. The installation was carried out very professionally and quickly. In addition, which was also very important to us, the torsion bar springs were adjusted correctly.
After a test drive, it was agreed that the dampers could be switched to a different damping level even after a longer journey. Mr Neumann’s advice was very comprehensive and helpful. The dampers were also installed very conscientiously and thoroughly.
We have now driven approximately 5,000 km on and off-road with our Marquart shock absorbers and are very satisfied with them. In our opinion, IVECOs should be equipped with Marquart shock absorbers when they are purchased new. The handling with Marquart shock absorbers and the adjustment of the torsion bar springs has improved enormously. Many thanks to Mr Neumann and the Marquart team.

‘Last week, Marquart, a company based in Löningen, installed a dual-circuit auxiliary air suspension system in my Hymer Womo Type B-MC T 680. The air suspension system, as well as the professional and high-quality installation with preparation for MOT approval, including the current driving comfort, was and is outstanding. Mr Neumann and his team were simply fantastic! Thank you.‘

‘Very friendly, excellent and competent service. In our new motorhome, we used to get seasick before the shock absorbers were replaced because it rocked so much. After our visit to Marquart, driving the motorhome is fun again! The chassis is now in top condition, even when towing a trailer. My recommendation: 5 stars.’

‘Hello Marquart Team, I would like to give you my feedback now that the rear shock absorbers and front suspension struts have been fitted to my 906 4×4 Sprinter.
I was already familiar with the quality of your dampers, as I had replaced the rear standard dampers with your dampers 60,000 kilometres ago. The bouncing over thresholds disappeared immediately, and the vehicle felt much more stable overall. Now the front suspension struts have also been replaced, and at the same time the rear dampers again, because we have spent many thousands of kilometres on wonderful off-road tracks.
And the result after a few hundred kilometres? Absolutely fantastic. Finally, finally, the front axle is working as it should. No diving or swaying in circles, no pumping in tight corners (the standard shock absorber dived, then pushed back, then dived again, etc.) with that spongy feeling of instability.
And today? Firstly, it dips much less, and then it remains stable in its position until you exit the bend or roundabout. Honestly, I feel like I’m driving a completely different vehicle.
In addition, even short, hard impacts are now absorbed much better than before. This is particularly noticeable on the front axle. Finally, shocks are really cushioned. The front axle no longer ‘falls’ into the depression and no longer ‘hits’ the elevation, but works absolutely smoothly and sensitively.
In my opinion, this is a goal that is not easily achievable with a heavy 4×4 Sprinter rolling on hard 245 BF Goodrich tyres with the hard sidewalls typical of these tyres, and a third leaf spring that also stiffens the rear. The comparison is certainly not entirely accurate, but the behaviour is now similar to that of a passenger car.
Conclusion: I am completely satisfied with the conversion to Marquart dampers. Many thanks to your company and the team.‘

‘I have installed your dampers. My first impression: truly impressive! The handling is now significantly more stable and “solid”, the cabin is noticeably quieter, there is hardly any vibration, and even stronger impacts are absorbed cleanly. Thank you very much for the excellent advice and high quality – you can feel the difference immediately.’
